overall I like this piece; my complaint is that when I unpacked the chest, there were black marks on it that looked like they were made by a rope that was used in packaging. The chest was packed in February 2021 and I purchased it in May 2022 (that was clearly printed on the box). Who knos w what happened to it sitting in storage. I do not like the black marks and they were not on the display item in the Dover store. I will need to touch them up somehow without distroying the finish. I did not open my purchase until several weeks after picking it up due to the room not being ready.
It seems to be very sturdy and it is visually appealing. Priced too high though. I am sure it will suit my needs.
