Leading the Way in sustainability

Our Commitment

In today's world, the importance of environmental stewardship cannot be overstated. As concerns about climate change and resource depletion continue to grow, businesses across industries are recognizing the need to adopt sustainable practices. Johnny Janosik's World of Furniture & Mattresses is proud to be at the forefront of this movement, demonstrating a strong commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and promoting renewable initiatives.

We firmly believe that every small step toward sustainability matters. That's why we have implemented a range of green initiatives aimed at minimizing waste and maximizing resource efficiency. From recycling to innovative waste management techniques, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the planet while providing exceptional furniture and mattress solutions to our customers.

What We Do

One of our primary focuses is on recycling various materials commonly used in our industry. We actively participate in recycling programs for metal, cardboard, plastic, paper, and electronics. In 2023 alone, our efforts resulted in the recycling of an impressive 202.9 tons of cardboard, 1.8 tons of metal, 2 tons of condensed plastic, and half a ton of paper. These figures represent not just numbers, but tangible contributions to reducing landfill waste and conserving valuable resources.

For cardboard recycling, we utilize a baler to efficiently compress cardboard waste into compact bales, making it easier to handle and transport for recycling. Similarly, we have implemented a plastic densifier, a device that melts down plastic materials into condensed mounds which are then shipped out for recycling, where they can be transformed into new products or materials. Finally, we outsource electronics recycling to ensure that our electronic waste is handled responsibly and sustainably thereby reducing landfills and ensuring hazardous material is properly disposed of.

Our Partners

Our commitment to sustainability doesn't stop with our own practices. We also collaborate with a large number of furniture vendors who share our dedication to renewable initiatives. For instance, Vaughan-Bassett Furniture, plants a tree for every tree they use for their furniture products, contributing to reforestation efforts and environmental conservation. Similarly, Rowe Furniture employs eco-friendly practices such as using metal from recycled iron and incorporating down cushions made of recycled plastic into their products. Napa Furniture stands out with its Renewal furniture line, which exclusively uses reclaimed hardwood sourced from sustainable forests. These initiatives not only reduce the demand for virgin materials but also help divert waste from landfills.
